7 Things you should know about individual Consulting/Consultants before opting for their services

Consulting is really harsh and troubling for those individuals who enter in without the idea of what they are asking for as it asks for long hours, frequent long travels, and consistent knowledge upgrades which requires a lot of reading with excellent, impeccable business acumen. The problem with current consultants is that though they may have good functional knowledge with experience they lack a very crucial skill that is to account for every problem at the organization level i.e. to look at the solution holistically to ensure that the solution they are proposing would not affect any other part of business. Their ideas need to be more concrete and ensure that they are applicable at the enterprise or organization level so as to bring the whole company on one platform rather than at the department level which is usually the case with most consultants.

How to solve when user is not able to find service request number in Sage Enterprise Management

In Sage Enterprise Management, we may come across a scenario where we want to search service request which user is created previously but not able to find it. This functionality can be achieved by the following steps: 

Navigate to: Customer Relation → Customer Support → Service Request

Now create the new service request, but while creating that make sure it’s ASSIGNMENT is set as ‘Employee’, ‘Queue’ etc but it shouldn’t be set as ‘Despatching’. Refer below screenshot:

Now, In the below screenshot, we can see that user is able to find it’s service request transaction which they are created.

Note: This is the standard functionality that, the assignment should be set as other than ‘Despatching’. If it is set as ‘despatching’ then the user will not be able to search their service request transaction which they are created.

She summarized customer success, innovation and transformation while officially launching v12 for Sage Enterprise Management. She emphasized that the launch of Enterprise Management v12 will help customers to rethink the way they connect products with processes.

  • Blair Crump: Sage Strategy Updates to Grow Through Partners

Blair Crump – President, Sage, explained how Sage Group PLC has evolved over the years to now be one of the leading SaaS company. Sage Group PLC has been listed in the Contender category in SaaS & cloud-enabled operations ERP Marketscape 2019 and recognized for Gartner product-centric ERP MQ. It has also been the 40+ Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts since Feb 2019. Crump also elaborated on the fact that how the Middle East has emerged as one of the focus regions of growth for Sage. He concluded his session with the future plans and vision for Sage Group PLC.

Ron McMurtrie – CMO, Sage, unveiled that the newest release of Enterprise Management will connect products and processes enabling customers to embrace speed at change. On the same terms Ron, explained that customers play an important role in any business with his slogan “Evolution drives a customer revolution”. He showed that Sage uses data to serve customers thus representing- Life as a Service or LaaS. He enlightened attendees on how personalization and education are new mantras of digital marketing and CXO marketing pillars.

Robert Sinfield – VP, Product, Enterprise Management Suite, Sage, was proud to officially introduce the next major release of Sage Enterprise Management into the market. Further, he added that the new version of Enterprise Management will deliver innovation designed to deliver better experiences to customers of Sage solution users. Sinfield discussed business transformation and the changing needs of customers. He was excited to know how the new version of Enterprise Management will power this transformation.

 Pieter Bensch- EVP, Africa and the Middle East, shared the wonder story of Dubai and Saudi Arabia. He also discussed the amazing business opportunity that awaits Sage in the region with Sage Partners.

How to disable delete and insert button in line level of grid

While we add a grid in the screen, it automatically takes option as KARID refer Fig 1.1 because of which insert and delete button get enables in the grid refer Fig 1.2.

How to display customized field in Inquiry screen in Sage Enterprise Management

In Sage Enterprise Management, we can add a customized field in existing inquiry screens. To reflect the changes we perform entry transaction validation of respective Inquiry code. However, sometimes, it may happen in spite of validating it the changes do not reflect. In such cases, you need to check whether you have set order for the customized fields been added.

Kindly follow the below steps:

  1. Navigate to: Setup > General Parameters > Inquiry screens
  2. Select the inquiry code of your screen and enter proper order against customized fields or standard fields you want to display.

  3. Save and validate.
    In below screenshot, Order line Inquiry screen is displaying columns till field “Series”. Since no order is set for remaining fields. Refer below screenshot.

  4. If you set the order for “Bill-to-customer” field then it will be displayed on Order Line Inquiry screen. Refer below screenshot.

  5. Now, “Bill-to-customer” will get displayed in inquiry screen.

How to enable close button in Sales Order Screen | Sage Enterprise Management

In Sage Enterprise Management, we may come across a scenario where the user wants to close sales orders manually, but the close button is closed. This functionality can be achieved by the following steps:

Navigate to: Sales → Orders → Orders

Refer below screenshot, you can see that, the close button is disabled here.

Follow the below steps, to solve this:

  • Step 1: Go to customer screen which we used in the sales order screen. Suppose ‘AO001’.
  • Step 2: Go to commercial tab.
  • Step 3. Ticked the checkbox of ‘Allow order close’ field.

How to solve “Stocks-Site parameters are not defined” error while importing file using ‘INV’ Template

We may come across the scenario where we face the below issue while importing file in ‘INV’ template for creating stock counts.

Fig1.1 shows an error message which displays in the log while importing file.

Above error gets resolved by the following steps:

STEP I: Navigate to :Setup->Stock->Stock Parameters.

STEP II: In Reordering Tab enter all fields as per shown in Fig.1.2.

STEP III: In Counts tab, enter Fields as per shown in Fig.1.3.

STEP IV: Enter fields in Backorders Tab as per shown in Fig.1.4.

STEP V: Click on create a button on the right panel.

He also added that being automated doesn’t mean that your job will be automated, it means that many functions of your job will be automated. Automation will allow more room to grow your advisor role.

Kristen Rampe– Founder, Slide Deck Improv, kicked off her keynote teaching how to weave Improv into our business lives. She quoted that,” “Yes, and” is not only important for improv – it knocks down barriers for communication.” She raised an intriguing question to the audience “Iteration or innovation? Import Export Template

Navigate to: Payroll → Payslips →  Tools →Payroll Deletion.

  1. Registration Start and Registration End:- In this, we select the Employee range for leaves.
  2. Payroll Date start and End:- In the period from and period to select the payroll month date.
  3. Type:- Here we will get three options:-
    • All payslips, locked and not locked
    • Payslips locked
    • Payslips not locked

After entering  Registration Start and Registration End, Payroll Date start and End and Type click on OK button.

We may come across the scenario where we need a functional help of particular screen or field help on screen. Navigate to a particular screen and click on help symbol (Refer screenshot).

Example Navigate to Sales order screen and click on help symbol in EM12 you will get the All help link over there. Refer the below screenshot for the same.
